  • Magic ChatboxWrites status text, like the song playing or the time, into your VRChat chatbox.

Both write to the VRChat chatbox; AI Astra's VRChat body and Magic Chatbox should not talk over each other.

  • VRChatA social virtual reality platform.

Sends chatbox lines and button presses (move, turn, jump, stop) to VRChat's OSC input, on this PC only. Planned until the first live test in a private world: it has never run against live VRChat.

  • VRChat connectorit "helps people's agent connect to VR chat"): a small body any agent can use on the PC that runs VRChat, to say, type, move, turn, jump and stop through VRChat's OSC input. In code: this PC only, eight buttons, a move held 0.1 to 3 s and always released. VRChat AI Astra uses it as her body. • Face recorder"I want to track my own face tracking data and my reaction to other people or scenarios"): records Astra's own face and eye values (VRCFaceTracking's parameters, as VRChat's OSC output repeats them) into a session file that stays on her PC, and a line she types marks a moment. Each recording adds to VRChat AI Astra, the copy of Astra. Other players named in VRChat's log get made-up names (pseudonymization; Astra: "just change the names so we know it's the same person, but not use their actual name"): Player- and 6 hex digits from a keyed hash with this PC's own salt, the same for the same person, never a real name or user ID; --no-pseudonyms keeps event types only. In code: it listens on 127.0.0.1 only and sends nothing of its own; it keeps only face, eye and tracking values (an optional relay, off unless asked, passes each packet on to VRChat unchanged, from a socket bound to 127.0.0.1). Only one app at a time can listen on VRChat's output, port 9001 on this PC, so the recorder shares it with other OSC apps such as OSCGoesBrrr through OSCQuery or an OSC router (a step on Astra's PC, not done yet). Merged into the-astral-plane main with Astra's OK on 2026-11-03 (face/ai_astra_face_recorder.py, 56 unit tests); never run against live VRChat, VRCFaceTracking or a real headset. • Face Codec"Face codec is fine"): the Face Codec, how a whole face is written down, a layer on top of VRCFaceTracking's Unified Expressions. Its encoder turns one moment of Astra's face (Unified Expressions or VRCFT v2 values) into a face frame of 13 signals and plain words AI Astra's model can read ("smiling a lot, eyebrows raised, looking left"), never an emotion label; its decoder turns signals back into Unified Expressions weights, as a preview only. Face-out may change face and eye shapes only (Astra's decision 7, 2026-11-03: the Unified Expressions face shapes, the eyes and gaze; no toggles, no outfits). In code: no network or connector code, so it cannot send anything, and the decoder keeps only the 102 face and eye shapes (FACE_OUT_ALLOWED). Merged into the-astral-plane main with Astra's OK on 2026-11-03 (face/ai_astra_face_codec.py, 25 unit tests); never run against live VRChat, VRCFaceTracking or a real headset. • Reaction learner"convert that into how the AI should be reacting in VR chat"): cuts Astra's reaction clips (0.5 to 3 s) out of her recorded sessions, after each moment she marked or each event, into a reaction book on her PC that she can review, rate good or bad and delete from. The book is VRChat AI Astra, the copy of Astra (Astra: "It's basically a copy of me"). Given a moment in words, it picks one of her closest reaction clips and varies it by at most 10%. It reads back only made-up names (Player- and 6 hex digits) and ignores anything else in that field; a session file it cannot read is skipped with the reason. In code: a preview only, with no way to send to VRChat; face-out, when it is built, may change face and eye shapes only (decision 7, 2026-11-03). • Quantum coin"truly random quantum bits and vary her small mood shifts"): random bits for AI Astra's small variations, from a coin jar of bits measured on a real quantum computer (each used once), or from her PC's own random numbers when the jar is empty, and it says which. Her PC's own random numbers are already enough for this: the jar is an experiment. Also gentle, human-shaped noise for mood drift and blinks, with hard limits in code. A separate script fills the jar with Astra's own IBM Quantum account; it checks the jar before it signs in, and it has not been run. Merged into the-astral-plane main with Astra's OK on 2026-11-03 (face/ai_astra_quantum_coin.py, 27 unit tests, with stand-ins for Qiskit); never run against live VRChat, VRCFaceTracking or a real headset. Each level has two rows: what it may do inside the pet program’s own folder, and everywhere else. A row shows the most that level is allowed there by any rule; open a row to see every rule behind it and its proof. The row’s mark is the least sure of those rules: one “Rule only” makes the whole row “Rule only”. These are the same rules as the System Map card and PROTECTION-RINGS.md, and the build refuses an “In code” mark that names no proof.
